Temptation and gratitude

Tonight's going to be very short...I've got schoolwork to do and I'd like to get some sleep before the dentist tomorrow. I'm thinking of gratitude and temptation this evening. A couple of facebook posts from friends have me thinking about them, and more importantly, filled with gratitude. One wrote 'Opportunity knocks, but temptation leans on the doorbell.' Ain't that the truth! Another was sharing about a car accident he was in a number of years ago and how lucky he is to be alive today.

I think back on my life and there have been so many temptations. Not to say that they were life threatening, but I gave into many that were life altering and have been lucky to emerge relatively unscathed. Today, I can stand up to temptation, take a moment and assess whether it's an opportunity or not. Today, I can look at my life and see how full and rich it is. Don't get me wrong. I don't have a lot of money, no fancy car, no penthouse apartment, nothing like that. There's a lot I don't have, but I don't want for anything of substance. I've got a roof over my head, clothes on my back, food in my belly, Ella, wonderful friends and family and a job that I like.

Same ol', same ol' on the morning meal!

A little something different for my mid-morning snack

A big salad with chicken and some cantaloupe for lunch

I ate about 1/2 of the miso soup. Gotta say, it didn't really do much for me.

Salad with avocado...not sure what the dressing was, but it was good!

SUSHI!!!!!! Yeah, I probably over did it, but I had about 1/2 of this.

When I got home, I did have the remaining 1/2 pint of coconut milk 'ice cream.'

Tomorrow morning, back to the dentist and mushy food for me!
