No pain

Elephant, my Elephant! Wherefore hast thou forsaken me, my Elephant? Too much Shakespeare? Maybe...but why can't I get my own emotional buy-in on board with sticking to the eating plan?

The good news is that my hip is feeling much better lately! Absolutely no pain for 2 days in a row! I've been sticking to the PT plan of taking it easy with exercise...no more than 30 minutes on the elliptical. OK, it was supposed to be 25 minutes but I added 5. I contemplated just trying running, but got some good advice from a couple of friends not to. They're right. I should listen to the professionals and not do anything to jeopardize my own recovery.

And then I think that there's only 2 1/2 months to the half marathon...not a lot of time to train.

Lots of sugar...chocolate muffin and fruit, and a donut, and another muffin...

mmm, Ben & Jerry's!

Half marathon?

I've been bitching about my hip...for how long now? Well, I'm still hopeful that I can run a half marathon this fall. So hopeful, in fact, that I'm signed up for one in October! Yeah, my registration for the B.A.A. Half Marathon was accepted.

Maybe I'm crazy. Maybe I should not have signed up. Maybe I'll end up getting rid of my number.

Back to this hip though. Right now, I'm allowed to do 15 minutes on the elliptical. If I can complete 2 days of 15 minutes without pain during or after, I can add 10 minutes. I can add 10 minutes each time I can complete 2 days without pain. OK, so I'll be moving super slowly back into running. For right now, I'll take what I can get. For right now, I'm doing what I can to keep moving toward my goal of running a half marathon!

Wow! How on earth has so much time passed since I wrote? I guess I've been busy...busy working at Shakespeare on the Common, busy working, busy seeing my friends...busy. Busy, but eating very well. Not always healthy, but delicious. Actually, I've been so busy that I've fallen back into eating pizza all too often.
