Back to running

My mom returned to Arizona yesterday evening. What did I do? I went running this morning. I admit though that I did not jump back on the healthy eating perfectly just yet. However, I made a good stride!

I ran today for about 50 minutes with a friend. She was awesome! She timed us, gave me pointers on how to run hills, planned in rests, kept her pace slower for me, AND found a bathroom on the route...She's a good friend! I was going to take tomorrow off from running, but my muscles are feeling OK, maybe I'll get out for a 4 miler? I was able to run 4 miles before taking two weeks off from exercising, I've got to get back to it and build distance! Tomorrow being a holiday, I have no excuse really.

Almost time...

Wow....it's almost time for mom to home. That means it's almost time for me to get back to healthy eating and exercise. That means it's time to start thinking about how often I need to run and do strength training and get back to kickboxing! I admit, I'm looking forward to putting gloves on and hitting people. I know...

Seriously, I can't wait to get back to exercising and working towards the goal of finishing an obstacle race in August. How awesome is that? That's one of my next goals. I've got two 10Ks that I'm signed up for and and obstacle race. It's definitely good to have goals!

The trick

I've been back to work for 2 days now. Wow! Working is hard. It's strange, I'm more exhausted just from working two days than I was from being on the go on vacation! I guess it's just a different type of schedule and use of my brain. Regardless, it's all good.

In the meantime, I'm sorta kinda getting back on track with my eating. There was still some chocolate and ice cream and not-so-on-the-plan types of foods though. Baby steps. My plan is go back to being strict when my mom goes home. That gives me a goal of Sunday to step it up and get back to eating right and exercising.

I do have some work-out goals...I'd like to get to running at least 3 to 4 times a week. I'd like to take a kickboxing class at least once a week. I'd like to do a conditioning class at least once a week. That's some big plans! The trick is to just start doing them. The trick is just to start moving, to start getting back to exercising.

Post graduation binge

What a ride!!!! Graduation was a week and a half ago and I've been loving life!! I've also been eating so far off the plan that I've gained some weigh. I'm calling it my post-graduation binge. Nothing I can't take off, but more than I like...somewhere between 5 and 7 pounds. Some say it's "vacation weight". I don't buy it though. Time to get back on the healthy eating wagon...

There's plenty not in the photos...chips, candy, etc. I'm such a sucker for candy. And we were on a road trip...I have a million excuses. But now, it's time to get back to business. Time to get back to healthy eating and time to get back to exercising.
